Day Camp

This week Lily and Isaac attended Day Camp. The girls went on Tuesday and Wednesday when the weather was gorgeous in the low 80s. Isaac and I went on Thursday and Friday when the weather was like a typical VA summer-99 degrees and 80% humidity. For anyone that doesn't know, that's down right miserable! We still had lots of fun. They had both indoor and outdoor activities. Isaac favorites were "Blow Dart Tag, Bolivian Slingshots, and Soda Pop Rockets." They also had a rain gutter regatta which I thought was fun. Lily's favorites were making candles and making a pearl necklace. On days like these, I wish I was still a kid.

A Day at the Park

The kids and I were missing our Aunt Rose, so we picked her and her camera up and spent the afternoon at park. Thanks Rose. Enjoy some our favorites.

Computing Skills

Nathan doing his Baby Smash
Nate looking to see if he's in trouble
Nathan logging in
Nate's developing "pooter" skills already. Lee installed "Baby Smash" on the kids's computer. You are supposed to be able to let kids push any and all keys and fun shapes and color come on the screen to keep the babies happy. Nate did that for 10 seconds and then climbed on the keyboard pushing ctrl, alt, delete all at the same time, rebooting the computer. Some much for kid proof fun. We're so proud of him!

Day 3 of Summer Break

This morning the boys painstakingly filled water balloons in the basement bathroom. I mean filled...to their capacity. Some were a big as beach balls. Only by a miracle did they all make it outside. 30 seconds later, Sam, Eli, and Isaac were soaked and balloon-free. What fun!!!
Nathan has been busy too. He pulled a carton of eggs off the table and broke our last 6 eggs. Isaac tipped a bowl of milk all over the wood floor trying to keep Nathan out of the trash can. All BEFORE breakfast!
76 days and counting.

Terrific T-Ball

Sam and Coach Marty
Sam is #11 on the Ironbirds (like the Plane) and the Air Force sponsored us.
Eli at the ready
Eli #9 is showing the "baseball ready" stance. The boys stand on the field and literally scream their rallying cry.
Eli the flirt
Eli was caught chatting up a girl on the opposing team!
Taking a break
The best part...of course, snacks!
Eli about to take a swing
The very best part of t-ball was hitting "lightsaber" hard and running "race car" fast.
Sam and Coach Sean
Sometimes Sam needed a little encouragement from the coach to keep out of the ever enticing dirt.
Eli practice swinging
Sometimes they took the game seriously...
Sam rolling in the dirt
Sometimes not.

Weekend Movies

Lee and I actually had a date on Friday! We went to see the new Indiana Jones movie. I had heard some negative reviews, but still wanted to see it. I for one, liked it very much. I guess Shia LaBouf is going to be popular for a while...saw a preview with him in it. Grandma DeLapp and I took Lily, Sam, and Eli to see "Kung Fu Panda" on Saturday. Jack Black makes a perfect Po. The kids really liked it too. Good family flick. Saw a preview and a poster for upcoming movies, "Marley and Me" and "Twilight". Can hardly wait.

Lily's New Hairdo

Kudos to Haley (Lily's cousin) for being the first family girl to lose her locks for the summertime. I was talking to Rhonda, as part of my mandatory phone time to keep me sane, and she told me that Haley got her hair cut into a stacked layered bob. I loved the idea, not for me, but for Lily. Thursday Lily braved the salon and came away with the most adorable cut. Pictures to follow...Thanks again Haley.

Preschool Graduation

Congratulations! Sam and Eli graduated from preschool on May 31st. The boys had a great year.
Eli and Allie
Eli's favorite part was playing outside and PE. Allie was a great buddy for him. She said he was very agreeable and always wanted to participate.
Sam and Trisha
Sam had his own ideas and was a little less agreeable, but Trisha was flexible and they had lots of fun! Sam's favorites were blocks, puzzles, and puppets (especially the chicken).
